Auto darkening filter's operation instruction

  • Dark shade: DIN5～DIN9/ DIN9～DIN13

  • Sensitivity:

  1. When welding current is small, put the "sensitivity" knob to high place.

  2. When welding current is large, put the “sensitivity” knob to low place.

  3. Sensitivity is stepless control, set by hand according to actual situation.


Delay:

Delay time is time from dark to light , Stepless control.

  1. When welding current is big and the light of molten pool is very strong, put the “delay”knob to high place. I

  2. f you want to do spot welding, you need to put the “delay”knob to low place.

  3. Adjust “delay”knob to middle place is suitable for most of welding mode.

I compared HITBOX HB555 with the other mask , bought a year ago for 1500 rubles. The first difference is the size of the visors, it is noticeably larger for the reviewed one, the ASF also has two spark sensors, the hitbox has four





The second is a passive filter, for example, I took three photos with the same settings. The first without a mask, the second through HITBOX HB555 , for the third I used other helmet . In low light, the gain in brightness and detail is huge

And also the sensitivity, it constantly bothered me that in the other helmet the dimming could stop working if the weld pool started to go around the corner or if you move a meter away from the workplace, the HB555 does not have such a problem, although when the sensors are triggered by sparks from a grinder in a pair meters from you, it's also a little annoying





Finally, I turned the dimming from 9 to 5 GRID when working with a 3mm electrode with a current of 100A, although the minimum value will not cause serious harm to vision, it still blinds and it will be difficult to navigate in a dark room after that, but with 7-8 GRID you can work safely , both the arc with the bath and the workpiece itself are visible
