Wrench is a common tool for installation and disassembly.
A hand tool used to turn bolts, screws, nuts, and other threaded fasteners to hold the opening or sleeve of a bolt or nut. A wrench is usually provided with a clamping handle at one or both ends of the handle to apply external force to the handle to turn the opening or sleeve hole of the bolt or nut.
When in use, the bolt or nut can be turned by applying external force on the handle along the thread rotation direction. Wrenches are usually made of carbon or alloy structural steel.
Classification purpose:
There are two kinds of spanners: Dead spanner and movable spanner. The former refers to the spanner with fixed number, and the latter refers to the adjustable spanner.
1. Solid wrench: one or both ends are provided with fixed size openings for turning nuts or bolts of certain size.
2. Ring spanner: both ends of the spanner have working ends with hexagonal holes or twelve holes, which is suitable for the occasions where the working space is narrow and the ordinary spanner cannot be used.
3. Dual purpose wrench: one end is the same as the single end solid wrench, the other end is the same as the ring wrench, and both ends turn the bolts or nuts of the same specification.
4. Adjustable spanner: the opening width can be adjusted within a certain size range, and the bolts or nuts of different specifications can be screwed. The structure of the wrench is characterized in that the fixed jaw is made into a flat jaw with fine teeth; one end of the movable jaw is made into a flat jaw; the other end is made into a concave jaw with fine teeth; pressing the worm downward, the movable jaw can be quickly removed and the jaw position can be changed.
5. Hook spanner: also known as crescent spanner, it is used to turn flat nuts with limited thickness.
6. Socket wrench: it is composed of multiple sockets with hexagon hole or twelve hole and equipped with handle, extension bar and other accessories. It is especially suitable for bolts or nuts with very narrow turning position or deep depression.
7. Allen wrench: a L-shaped hexagonal bar wrench, which is specially used to turn the Allen screw. The model of Allen wrench is based on the size of opposite side of hexagon, and the size of bolt is standard. Use: for fastening or dismantling round nuts on machine tools, vehicles and mechanical equipment.
8. Torque wrench: it can display the applied torque when turning the bolt or nut; or when the applied torque reaches the specified value, it will send out light or sound signal. The torque wrench is suitable for the installation with clear regulations on torque size.
